Odisha approves 10 projects worth Rs 2171 cr; Renewable energy, focus on ethanol, Energy News, ET EnergyWorld
Bhubaneswar: The State-level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra approved in principle 10 industrial investment proposals involving an investment of around Rs. 2,171.82 crore and direct employment opportunities for 5,242 people in the state.
In addition, the projects will create many more indirect employment opportunities and strengthen economic activities in different parts of the state.
With a principled nod to the proposals, Chief Secretary Mahapatra asked IDCO to do a scientific assessment of the actual land and water needs for the units in order to optimize land use. Relevant ministries have also been invited to facilitate rapid anchoring of projects through rapid authorizations and approvals.
Outlining the details of the investment proposals, Principal Secretary of Industry Hemant Kumar Sharma said: âThe proposals mainly come from sectors such as cement grinding, ethanol production, food processing, tourism, coal tar and renewable energies â.
He underlined the financial and technical credibility of the industrial houses which submitted the proposals. Industrial Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) General Manager Bhoopinder Singh Poonia presented details of the project for discussion.
“The committee approved the proposals of My Home Industries Private Limited (MHPL) to set up a 3 MTPA cement grinding unit in Jajpur district with an investment of Rs 650 crore and employment opportunities for more than 750 people; LN Metallics Limited for the placement of 0.112 MTPA MS Notes, 0.112 MTPA TMT / Structure / MS Strip, 0.04 MTPA Ferro Alloys, 0.1 MTPA Sponge Iron, 0.6 MTPA of iron, 0.4 MTPA Pellet, 0.112 MTPA MS / GI Pipe and 23 MW CPP in Jharsuguda district with an investment of Rs 205 crores and employment potential for over 571 people, âsaid Poonia.
“Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India Limited will set up a river jetty in Udayabata, Jagatsinghpur with an investment of Rs 150 crores and employment opportunities for more than 280 people,” he added.
Speaking further, he said that the Chief Secretary also approved Mash Bio Fuels Private Limited’s proposal to set up a cogeneration plant of 360 KLPD ethanol, 120 KLPD extra neutral alcohol (ENA) , 10 MW as well as a bottling unit for ENA with an investment of Rs 258.05 crores. The proposed unit in Sonepur district would generate employment opportunities for more than 300 people.
The proposals of Vibrant Spirits Private Limited to set up 100 KLPD Ethanol as well as a 5 MW cogeneration plant in the Bargarh district with an investment of Rs 100 crores and employment opportunities for more than 2,250 people; VCI Chemical Industries Private Limited to set up a coal tar distillation plant with a capacity of 1,000,000 TPA at Kalinganagar in Jajpur with an investment of Rs 210 crores and employment potential for more than 157 people; and Ramco Cements Limited to expand its existing factory with the addition of 0.9 MTPA cement grinding capacity at Haridaspur in Jajpur with an investment of Rs 190 crores and employment opportunities for more than 60 people also were approved at the meeting.
Other projects approved by the committee included, a 5 star hotel by Luxurio Assets Private Limited with an investment of Rs 181.60 crore and employment potential for 224 people to be set up in the Khurdha district, a hotel complex of luxury by Lalchand Resort Private Limited for Rs 119.67 crore investment and employment potential for over 350 people in Khurdha district and 4 star hotel from Sailabala Infrastructure Private Limited in Khurdha district industrial zone with an investment of Rs 107.50 crore and employment opportunities for over 300 people.
