DUBAI: More than 200 Indian ICT (information and communication technology) companies and startups are taking part in “GITEX GLOBAL 2022” which is being held from October 10 to 14 in Dubai.

The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) is once again ensuring a strong Indian participation in the international technology fair.

Aman Puri, Consul General of India in Dubai, inaugurated the India Pavilion at GITEX on Monday. On the occasion, Puri said, “This year is the largest participation of Indian companies at GITEX and we are proud of it. India and the UAE share strong cultural and economic ties which have been further strengthened with the signing of CEPA earlier this year. He said that Dubai has become the most important partner for Indian companies in the electronics and IT sector. GITEX is a playground for Indian startups, which can get international exposure from other parts of the world. It is the platform where “Made in India products show their strength to the world. »

India is experiencing very strong growth in exports of electronic equipment. The country’s electronics exports to the Middle East in 2021-22 are estimated to be valued at $3,323 million.

The UAE is India’s second largest electronics export destination globally, with a 16% share. In terms of value, electronics exports to the UAE are estimated at $2,468 million. The export of software and related services to the Middle East reached $3,300 million in 2021-22.

India’s total electronic equipment exports in 2021-22 are estimated at $15.69 billion, up from an estimated $11.03 billion in 2020-21, registering a growth of 42%. India’s exports of software and IT services are estimated at $172 billion in 2021-22, up from $146 billion in 2020-21, registering a growth of 17.75%.

In order to further strengthen electronic and IT relations between India and the Middle East, the Council invites a large delegation from the Middle East to visit India for INDIA SOFT 2023 scheduled for 27-28 March 2023 in New Delhi, India.
