US Open 2022 standings: Live coverage, today’s golf scores, Country Club round two updates

A second-round 3-under 67 catapulted world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler to the top of the 122nd US Open as the afternoon wave is about to begin play. Struggling out of the gates on Friday, the Texan caught fire in the middle of his back nine and played a four-hole 4-under streak, punctuated by an eagle on the par-5 14th.

Scheffler now finds his name alongside Nick Hardy who signed for rounds 69-68. Four other men sit at the top of the standings and have yet to kick off their second round, including four-time major champion Rory McIlroy. After successfully defending his RBC Canadian Open title, the Northern Irishman was nearly flawless en route to what was a bogey-free first round…through 17 holes.

McIlroy will be looking to pass Scheffler with a solid second round, just like those a few strokes behind. Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris and Max Homa were all able to play red figures with their performances on Thursday and hope to do the same this afternoon. With plenty of action yet to unfold, these gaming titans are sure to claim this championship.
